Falling Back on You

Sometimes, it’s a good thing to fall. So then you realize who is the one you can truly fall back on.

But who likes to fall? It’s almost a bad word to say! No, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t want to fall. I’d like to stand tall. But hey, you’re not human if you don’t fall! We fail time and time again. Can we forgive ourselves? Can others forgive our failure?

I realize that when I fall, I am alone. Sure, there may be nice people who’ll encourage me and say it’s all right. But ultimately, I’m facing the fall and the hurt alone. It is during these times that I realize WHO I can truly fall back on.

By my own strength, I cannot truly live. By my own strength, I am alone. My efforts are futile. I have to learn this time and time again because I forget that God is the source of my life, the Giver of all good gifts. I realize that as long as I rely on myself and succumb to the pride of life, I will fall. I must fall, so that I’ll once again fall back on God, not on mere men or myself.

I realize that the only way we can fall back on God is to admit that we need to be saved. Which is a hard thing to say. The problem with us all is we think we are okay. Are we okay? I think not…

Without Jesus, we are falling, falling, falling…
