…A continuation of the previous post

1 Peter 2:1-2 ~ “Therefore, laying aside all wickedness, all dishonesty, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babies, desire the pure milk of the WORD, that you may grow thereby.”

We all need God’s Word to live on in our daily lives. It’s like spiritual food to our soul. In the verse above, we are all considered as newborn infants. We must all desire the pure milk of God’s Word. Just like a baby, we need to feed on milk in order to grow. God’s Word to us, Christians, can be compared to milk being fed to newborn babies.

But how many of us see the NEED to study the Bible? Of course, we’re always just too lazy sometimes. No, that can’t be the excuse! How can it be? Imagine if you skip 3 meals everyday, won’t you be starved to death in the end? Well, that’s the same with God’s Word!

But there is also a possibility that we don’t want to read the Bible because it’s too hard to understand. Everyone struggles with that, not only you. But God will help you if you’d just ASK. God is the one that gives us the understanding of His Word. You don’t think you can actually figure out everything ON YOUR OWN, do you? No, it’s not possible. The source of all wisdom and understanding comes from God! So what’s so hard to just ask the One who knows it all?

Notice that 1 Peter 2:1 says: “Therefore, laying aside all wickedness, all dishonesty, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking… desire the pure milk of the Word.”

If we do not clear our hearts and minds of all this “rubbish”, how are we gonna’ FULLY receive the “treasures” in God’s Word? It’s certainly VERY hard. But of course, here it comes again, God can help you! It’s all “in the process”. No one’s ever perfect. You can’t expect yourself to change 100% to some miss goody-goody two shoes! As long as your heart is right in God’s eyes, you’re fine. (Though many times it’s not right… that’s for me, too.)

So after reading all this, what’s your decision? It’s not for me to say, but for you to decide. It’s a YOU-and-GOD-thing.

Live it all for Christ!
